This review is from: Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 10.1MP Digital Camera with 3x Anti Shake Optical Zoom (Blue)I bought this camera (EX-Z1050) four months ago to replace a Canon Power Shot, which I loved. I debated about the 7mp versus the 10mp for a while, because the size of the 10mp was about twice as thick. I went to a retail store to play with them and ultimately chose the 10mp model. Here's what I found out after over 3000 pictures and videos (I'm a big picture guy with a toddler around)-SUPER FAST STARTUP - about one secondAMAZING BATTERY LIFE - this camera exceeded all my expectations in this category. In fact I am still amazed by it. I do not take very many flash pictures, but I take a lot of video. I get about 800 pictures or 1 hour 20 minutes of continuous video before it dies.SDHC FORMAT - this camera does not take regular SD cards, so you need an SDHC card for it. It is a completely different architecture than SD, but the capacity is huge, starting at 4GB. This new format does not work in regular SD card readers, so I bought a $13 SDHC card reader because I hate messing around with camera cables.EXCELLENT VIDEO - This camera has the same video quality and frames per second as my $1200 JVC Everio GZ-MC200. The videos are taken in MPEG 4 and there is no need to convert the files, so they can be opened and played in standard windows media player.EASY CONTROLS - Well designed controls and easy user interfaceFAST - This camera is ready for another shot in ONE second and has a multiple shot mode that takes about 5 shots per second. Turning off or lowering the review mode will get you up and running even faster after a shot.GREAT LCD - Great 2.7" screen, very bright in direct sunlight. I have it on highest brightness/ contrast and the battery life is still amazing.BEST SHOT MODES - Very convenient, I did not think I would ever use these, but I find myself always using them. These modes automatically adjust the white balance and color saturation for a given situation like Portrait, Bright Sun, Fluorescent, ETC. They are very easy to select and use and work well.PHOTO SOFTWARE STINKS - The included photo software "hot photo" stinks. It loads into your tray, is always running in the background and sucks up your system resources. The usability is poor at best and any other photo software would be better. You do not need this software to use the camera.IMAGE STABILIZATION - In my opinion the camera takes better photos with image stabilization off. I noticed a lot of noise in the blacks under high zoom in Photoshop when I had the Image Stabilization on. I took two sample shots from tripod with timer one with and one without to confirm my initial noise observation. It seems that noise and pixelization are apparent with Stabilization, but very clear sharp pictures without it. Bottom line is there is no substitute for a steady hand, so practice with the camera. BOTTOM LINE - Get this camera. It's cheap for about $200 and with an 8 GB HDSC card, card reader and case plus tax; you will get away with the whole package for about $300 bucks. Image quality is super in a very compact and user friendly package.

This review is from: Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 10.1MP Digital Camera with 3x Anti Shake Optical Zoom (Blue)When my Exilim EX-750 fell in the cooler, it was over. I loved that camera, but couldn't bring myself to get a refurbished one for almost the price of what I paid 15 months prior. So, I "upgraded" to the Exilim EX-Z1050. It's even easier to user than the Z-750. Changing the most used settings is very quick. The LCD is bright outdoors, so even though there is no tiny viewfinder it's not a problem. I highly recommend this camera.

This review is from: Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 10.1MP Digital Camera with 3x Anti Shake Optical Zoom (Blue)My wife and I are just back from a trip to Norway, took over 700 pictures with this camera. My wife used last years model. My conclusion is that the EX-Z1050 is markedly easier to use in terms of access to menu as well as larger space for framing the picture. Interestingly, however, the images on my wife's camera were clearly superior to this EX-Z1050. I suspect that to hold the price down Casio downgraded the quality of the lens. Since anti-shake feature will marginally degrade the quality of the image I double checked and both our cameras had the feature turned on.

This review is from: PS3 3-Port USB Hub Controller Expander with SD Card ReaderThis thing works just like you'd expect it to. I haven't tried the card reader... Also, you get a USB cord that has a male and a female end... so you can plug this in to the cord to have it away from the system for some reason, or you can do like I did, and extended my charging cable for when I need to charge a controller while playing....

This review is from: PS3 3-Port USB Hub Controller Expander with SD Card ReaderI received this product quickly as usual with everything I order from Amazon.com. However, it doesn't work at all. It comes with a USB extension cable so not all is lost. I didn't bother returning the item because it was so inexpensive and didn't feel that the cost of sending it back warranted trying to get a little bit back with the return....

This review is from: PS3 3-Port USB Hub Controller Expander with SD Card ReaderTurns one USB port into three, so I can hook up my Move camera and still have three free ports for what ever I need.... PLUS it has a SD card reader, so you can upload pics, files etc. that are on an SD card! Great Product!...

KingWin USB 3.0 to SATA Adapter for 2.5-Inch and 3.5-Inch HDD (USI-2535U3)

Connect to three different sizes of drive mechanism to USB 3.0 (2.5", 3.5" and 5.25")

Supports all SATA drives

AC/DC power adapter

This review is from: KingWin USB 3.0 to SATA Adapter for 2.5-Inch and 3.5-Inch HDD (USI-2535U3)I'm able to use this little adapter with my hard drive installed in my older StarTech SATA Hard Drive enclose (DRW150SATBK). The drive runs cool this way. The adapter simply plugs into the back of the StarTech hard drive enclosure.I'm using a WD Caviar Black 2TB SATA III 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache hard drive (WD2002FAEX) when using this adapter. The drive is a month old and I'm now using it for video storage.HEAT ISSUE: (using USB 3.0, 5Gbps max):There's a heat issue when using a high performance hard drive (SATA 3, 6 Gbps) in an open air environment without any cooling. The drive will get hot but it depends on how long it's running full bore. Without any means of cooling, my drive rose to 126 Deg F on the hottest part of the case. And it rose to 135 Deg F on a small part of a protruding circuit board. The WD max spec is 140 Deg F. It took 1 hour & 20 minutes to get this hot while running a long format. Then I turned it off, cooled it down, and installed it into the above mentioned StarTech enclosure. Everything is running fine.Paid $29.35 each including tax. Purchased 2 of them on 08-21-2011 from Frys Electronics in the Los Angeles area....

Laptop Cover - macbook case, case

I bought this MCover because a black Speck case wasn't available. Plus it was cheaper. I'm glad I did. This case perfectly fits my 15" unibody mac. There are tiny plastic tabs that clip over the top and bottom of the laptop, making it very snug. To remove it for any reason, I unclip a tab on each side of the top shell. After I slide it off a few inches, I can easily unclip the rest of the tabs and remove the shell. The bottom comes off a little easier. The bottom has a bunch of slots to cool the laptop, and 2 little foamy circle pads, plus the little standing tabs.

Although the black colored shell is semi translucent, you can't see the mac logo until the laptop is on. Then the logo is seen glowing through the shell. If you don't like that, you can just tape a piece of black paper on the inside of the shell.

The top shell has a satin plastic finish with a 1" matte finish around the edges. The satin part holds fingerprints but I don't care. The top shell is light- my laptop screen stays exactly at the angle I open it.

Better than all this is the store's great return policy. My first package had a flaw, but they responded promptly and sent me a replacement within a week! They were fast and made my life easy so I could finally take my laptop outside. BLACK mCover® Hard Shell Case for 15" A1286 Aluminum Unibody MacBook Pro (Black keys, 15.4-inch diagonal screen)

Let me begin by stating that I seldom give five stars.

I was pleasantly surprised with this cover. Most of the reviews were right on, but since it was significantly less expensive than most I was not expecting it to be as well made as it is.

In response to one of the questions posted, The cover itself is glossy/shiny with the exception of about a 1 1/4" border around the top which is matte, as is the center square over the Apple logo.

Also, contrary to the experience of one of the reviewers, the cover for my 15" MBP DID come with the keyboard protector. I was not expecting this, nor was it a deal breaker because I did not see myself using it anyway. I have to say I am amazed at this little piece of "rubber." It slightly translucent and cut to perfection, molding nicely around all of the keys. It is perfectly designed to fit into the recess of the keyboard. The protector has sufficient weight and static cling to stay put all on its own. It extends roughly 3/8" beyond the outer edge of the keys rising up out of the recess and ending just shy of the speakers on either side. Sure, it is a different tactile experience, and one that I never thought I would want to deal with. But it is good to have and so well made, I will stick it out for a while and see if I can adjust to the change. My only question on this product in general is whether covering the keys will add to the internal temp?

When installing the top cover you will notice the both sides have the little clips to catch the edge, but only one of the long sides has the clips. Lacking any instructions I decided to put the cover on with the two clips on the front edge, figuring that they are more important at the front when lifting the cover to open it up. So far so good.

PROS: All of the above, plus the cover does not prevent the laptop from closing all the way. Some of the competition do, especially the leather ones. If it didn't close all the way you would have to shut down alll the time instead of allowing it to sleep. This is because if the cover is slightly open, it can wake up and the drive would be spinning while you are on the go - not good.

CONS:

1. With the bottom cover in place, the display angle is restricted some and will not open much beyond the 90 degree mark. I couldn't find my old plastic protractor, so I am guessing at 100 degree-ish. (Remember protractors? I tossed my in 1973!) If you do not lie in bed, knees up and cover wide open you will not find this to be a problem.

2. The other problem is more of a design issue with the laptop itself, but being that the display hinges are too "loose" already, the slight weight addition of the cover causes the lid to close too easily depending on the angle of the base. I would like the ability to tighten the MBP hinges. I will mention this to Steve.

Question to be determined: Will covering the keys will add to the internal temp? We shall see.

Wish List: As mentioned by another reviewer, the product photo is not totally accurate in its depiction of the Apple logo. This area is a black translucent material. With the laptop off, you do not see the logo. With the laptop on, the logo is visible, but not as crisp and clear as it appears in the photo. I do not have a problem with this, I only point it out in my anal need to be accurate.

A Prime Positive: On another note, I have been a Amazon Prime member for a few years now, and if my memory serves me correctly UPS had been delivering my goods. This of course meant no Saturday deliveries. When I placed my order on Thursday it indicated that it would arrive on Saturday. Prime includes free 2-day shipping on most eligible products, but I really didn't expect it on a Saturday. I was wrong. Early this morning (Saturday) FedEx delivered my packages. Nice!

I do not work for Amazon, and admittedly I do have a problem parting with $79 annually, but I do so nonetheless. But for those like me who didn't know, you can give four other family members their own Prime membership to use with their own method of payment as long as you maintain your account. There is no additional charge for this an as far as I can tell the only thing you share is a comment on your page indicating that the account is linked to mine as THE MASTER.

Advice: Don't get too caught up in being the Prime account MASTER. When my kids were small, I brainwashed them to refer me to as FATHERMAN! I even had a t-shirt with a big red "F" on the chest! The fun didn't last long, its amazing what the slightest bit of separation can do to an image. I quickly became known as FAT HERMAN, and have been so for about 20 years now with no end in sight! - Case - Shell - Black - Macbook Case'
