Bringing water to a boil seems like the most basic of kitchen chores. And yet, it's really more complex than you might think. For example, is there a way to use less energy doing it? What's the quickest and also the safest way? The Bistro Water Kettle is the answer to all these questions. It's the most energy efficient way to boil water and there is no excess water boiled - just the amount that's really needed for your coffee or tea. It's super quick and safe as the boiling water is not exposed like it would be in a pan. The Bistro Water Kettle is made from plastic, stainless steel and silicone. It comes in two different sizes (1l and 1.5l) and in black, orange, red, green, and white.
This review is from: Bodum Bistro Large Electric Water KettleI was under the impression from the description that the interior of the pot would be stainless steel, which was my desire, but it is all plastic. I didn't want hot water from a heated plastic container. The hinged lid is difficult to open to fill with water,it does not open very wide. Very expensive to be entirely plastic....
This review is from: Bodum Bistro Large Electric Water KettleI bought one of these in October 2010 because it looks lovely and bright, but last week it caught fire. I smelt burning plastic and went into the kitchen to check and there was smoke coming out of the top where the red button is.I emailed Bodum about it and their reply was more concerned to tell me that they can't give me a refund than the fact that their kettle is a fire hazard.I wonder if anyone else had the same problem?...
This review is from: Bodum Bistro Large Electric Water KettleBought this for my daughter for her birthday along with some tea items. The kettle was much larger than I anticipated, probably too large just for her, however, since I usually make tea for her in the morning I have found this to be a fantastic kettle so far. I love that all I need to do is add water and press a button, and a minute later the water is boiling. It turns off automatically, looks great- the on button lights on and off. As far as the sticker, you should know to take any adhesives off before heating any item, that would cause the adhesive to activate and become hard to remove. Mine came off easily. As far as it being unsafe, not aware of any defects etc. Mine has been plugged up for 2 months and no issues....
