It's a lot of fun to have an underwater camera for vacations! We ended up getting a lot of pictures that we never were able to get. Video mode is also really nice on this cam.

While snorkling (at the surface) I was able to take about 10 shots underwater before the view screen went black. I could tell that images were being saved because I could see the red image for that function, but I couldn't see to compose the shot. I continued to take about 50 pics. Then the wrist strap didn't work very well. It was pretty loose on my wrist and when I surfaced and rolled over on my back and used my hand to remove the snorkel tube from my mouth, to take a rest, the camera fell off my arm. It is now at the bottom of the Coral Sea with all of my photos. I think that for an underwater camera it would be good if Olympus included a flotation device that would keep the camera from sinking if the loop slips off of one's arm. This camera might be ok for the beach, where sand might otherwise harm a camera, but for me this camera was a total loss.
