Making Weight Control Second Nature: Living Thin Naturally <span style="text-transform:capitalize; f

"Being thin and healthy, eating what you like yet liking yourself, and controlling your weight without fixating on it for the rest of your life are not about natural gifts, but about the gift of knowing how. That's a gift you can give yourself--by reading this book." --David Katz, Director, Prevention Research Center, Yale University School of Medicine

This review is from: Making Weight Control Second Nature: Living Thin Naturally [Paperback]Making Weight Control Second Nature/Living Thin Naturally has motivated me to REALLY pay attention to what I eat and to limit the foods that have been an "addition" to my lifestyle. I have lost 10# so far and have 10 more to go. As a dietitian, I know what to do to avoid weight gain and lose weight, but because I am not THAT heavy (BMI 25), I have not always practiced what I preach. Oh sure, I eat healthy and most often prepare healthy meals, but it's the added foods ie cookies, brownies, chocolate, and eating out that kept my weight on and increasing year after year. Susan Burke-March's book provides practical, no nonsense approaches to losing and maintaining a healthy weight that can last a lifetime. I appeciate the inspirational quotes with each chapter. There are also some clever thoughts throughout the book. The layout is easy to read and can be used as a future reference if someone finds themself needing a 'refresher' in certain areas. I will recommend Making Weight Control Second Nature/Living Thin Naturally to clients, friends and family. This book will help many to identify bad habits and take control of their eating to make healthier changes. It is something I knew I needed to do, but sometimes, even for dietitians, we need motivation and inspiration....

This review is from: Making Weight Control Second Nature: Living Thin Naturally [Paperback]Ready to get help to shed a few pounds...and most importantly keep them off permanently? Choose Making Weight Control Second Nature: Living Thin Naturally a sensible and valuable new book about taking weight off and keeping it off...forever. It's not filled, as many "diet" books are, with quick fixes and magic potions. This book written by Susan Burke March, who's now kept off 40 pounds for over 25 years after yo-yoing up and down the scale for many years. To add to her credentials she's also a nationally respected dietitian and diabetes educator. In Making Weight Control Second Nature: Living Thin Naturally, Susan shares her personal weight transformation process and her expertise as a dietitian. Susan has also sought the personal weight management trials, tribulations and tips from her health professional colleagues. Is there a lot of brand new content about the how to's of losing weight and keeping it off? Naturally not! But what Susan focuses on - and we don't hear enough about in best-selling diet books - is the downright hard work of keeping those lost pounds at bay. She reinforces YES, it takes hard work every day and lots of saying NO!...

This review is from: Making Weight Control Second Nature: Living Thin Naturally [Paperback]Well, I just ate a healthy lunch and feel great thanks Susan and her book! The interesting thing is that I have invested literally thousands of dollars into many diet programs, foods, formulas, medications, procedures, etc. If you still struggle after all this as I, do yourself a favor and buy this book now. The first 23 pages alone are worth the cost of the entire book. Susan "sets the table" beautifully (no pun intended) and all that's required of the reader is to open their mind and learn from Susan's experiences. This book will help in all fronts of your life. It's that simple......
