Its capacity is larger than the previous kettle of the same brand that we had and it boils water much faster. The styling is very 1980s sci-fi movie but not a problem for the bargain I got it for. HOWEVER ... the spout on this kettle is terribly designed, unless you are exceedingly careful pouring this kettle you will splash boiling water everywhere! This is literally a safety hazard, stay away from this kettle despite the bargain price....
