This Rival Hot Pot boils water faster than a microwave. Its 35 oz. capacity is great for boiling water in a flash, plus it features a non-stick cooking surface and an adjustable thermostat. Great for the new college student!
This review is from: Shultz Rival Hot Pot 4071-WNI've used the Rival Host Pot Express. It heats the water very quickly. However I was first put off by the rust around the bottom of the boiler plate. I was going to take it back but I guess I was too lazy. I was a little concerned about heating the water in a plastic pot, but I didn't detect any unpleasant taste or odor but I was still concerned. I need not be concerned any longer however since the pot is now leaking. Not just leaking but leaking through the wiring and out the bottom. I won't be using it any longer. I just spent several hours looking for a nice all glass unit, but the reviews seem to support my fears of bad taste, or smell, or quality of the units. I may just get a hot plate and a glass pot. Oh well.P.S. I ended up buying the Breville kettle. It's stainless steel and has a base that it sits on to connect the heating element to power. I wanted glass, but this works perfectly. Sometimes what you think you want isn't the best choice. From everything I've seen, this it the best choice for the money. I've used it for many months now. Highly recommended....
This review is from: Shultz Rival Hot Pot 4071-WNI inherited a Rival hot water pot from my older brother that he had used for years during college. It still works great. If you crank it up to the highest setting it will heat a full pot to boiling in under 3 minutes, and you can adjust the temperature down to a low simmer if you want to keep the water hot for a while. The one drawback is that you have to plug and unplug the kettle to turn it on and there's no automatic shut-off, which could be annoying if you use it all the time or forget that you've left it on. Some of the more expensive kettles (like the Braun Express Electric Water Kettles) have automatic shut-offs and manual on/off buttons, but they are also about five times the price of the Rival. For light, occasional use, this little kettle perfect for my purposes....
This review is from: Shultz Rival Hot Pot 4071-WNThese pots are perfect for shipping them to Afghanistan for R Soldiers as they fit into the 'all you can ship' boxes. Our support group, Support R Soldiers, ships them to the front lines where all they have is a 2K generator. They can heat water and cook canned foods in it.We have gotten feedback that when they first get it they have stayed up half the night making coffee and just generally having a good time....
