This has been the closest I've ever been to a "plug 'n play" wireless router experience and it's been a very positive one.Out of the box I noticed that even the cabling had been set up with the power and ethernet cable already connected to the router. Each cable was tagged with a small cardboard label and the router itself had a card to record user and password info. The 1-2-3 steps were no lie. Plug the ethernet cable into your net modem, power up the router, and load the software. I followed the instructions to set up a personalized network name (SSID) and password but even if I hadn't, a password and ID had already been assigned by Belkin. The router software is functional and clearly labeled so even first-time users shouldn't have any problems setting up a wireless network.Connecting to the router was really easy and having set up this new router using the same SSID and access password as I had with my old router, my components didn't hiccup at all with the switch. In addition, I set up a higher speed connection as well as a guest connection with the same ease.Overall I really like this router and have found it to be extremely easy to set up and manage. Reliability seems to be excellent with no drops at all since its initial installation. In my book this router is a real winner....

After using a number of Belkin, Linksys, D-Link, and Netgear routers over the years, I think I have finally found a router that I am pleased with. Total installation time took about five minutes, and instructions are clearly laid out from the minute you open the box. There is a little card in the box that tells you what to do first (e.g., how and when to connect the modem and router, when to pop in the installation CD). Installation is just a matter of following these steps. Security and other settings are easily manipulated from your browser: go to 192.168.2.1.Speed is fast! I was about to upgrade my cable service because of internet sluggishness and connectivity problems, but this router upgrade saved me from dealing with the cable companies. Thank you Belkin!...

A Wireless Router is the heart of a wireless network, working much like the base station of your cordless phone with multiple handsets. This Belkin N450 Wireless Dual-Band N+ Router operates on both 2.4 and 5 GHz bandwidths. The 2.4 GHz will operate older equipment and cellphones. The 5 GHz band is a high throughput connection for all modern hardware. You will get fast downloads, smooth videos, music and games with the 5 GHz. This means you will get fast speeds and connections to computers, wireless printers, game consoles and other WiFi devices at transfer rates up to 300+ Mbps. The dual band is simply the best for connecting computers, internet ready tv's, game consoles, media players and more to your wireless network and the internet. There are a couple important points you need to know when buying a Wireless Dual-Band Speed Router. I would never buy a model priced under $50.00, as these less expensive models constantly drop their internet connections. I know this from first hand experience. The better models priced $50.00 and up have never had these issues. If you have very old gear, a Wireless N Router could cause you serious problems, so for those with older equipment, I wouldn't even chance to connect to an N Router.Another important note: Even though the 5 GHz will give you the fastest, smoothest speed and connections, remember you cannot exceed the speed provided by your ISP and modem, and unless the wireless router has a wireless modem, it must be connected to one via an ethernet cable and the quality of this connection has an effect on your maximum speeds. To have the best set-up, make sure your networking equipment is compatible with the router. There are a couple small negatives with this router: You could get interference from cellphones, microwave ovens, cordless phones and other household electronics, which may cause annoying interference as with any wireless network. Also, when installing your router, a Firmware Update may be needed. This is an easy fix, you just go to the Belkin Router Manager Software Icon in your system tray and check for updates, or go to the Belkin...
