I live in Los Angeles so a GPS system is very helpful finding my way around. I agree with another reviewer that the load time is a bit slow, but nothing that would cause me to have an issue with it. The maps themselves are Navtech maps and are used in the majority of preinstalled GPS systems of major car makers. There are several options with the 'advanced' mode and the basic mode offers simple navigation tools. I would recommend this to anyone considering a GPS system who doesn't want to spend over $500....

I have used it several times, and find it to be well built and reliable. The unit is easy to use, if you spend a few minutes looking at the instructions, and has a bigger screen than any other portable units, as far as I can see. Also, the windshield suction cup mount that comes with it is well-built, adheres to the glass very reliably, and is strong,without bounce or sway. The sound of the voice is decent also....

Though the unit is a little slow to load the maps compared to models twice the price, it certainly works smoothly once loaded.I also use the product for road trips and it is nice having the entire US preloaded into the unit. other units require plugging into a computer.For the price/size, you can't beat it....
