This review is from: Webcam C160I purchased this to use on Skype. The first annoying thing about this product is that signing up for a internet video conferencing service is a mandatory part of the software installation That leaves the user with two options 1)Signing up for something you don't want or 2) abort the set up early to avoid signing up for the service and wondering if the product is completely installed or not - which is what I opted to do... The software apparently had completed it's installation at the point I bailed out because when I launched the "web cam center" icon it put on my desk top I was looking at myself onscreen through the camera. It was out of focus but the focus ring on the camera produced a bright clear picture - with no sound. The problem was that the microphone driver of the web cam did not register itself as a selectable "audio device" independent of the camera, therefore no audio software on my computer could find the microphone and use it - including Skype. After downloading the latest software from Logitech and wasting 4 hours looking for help on thier web site and online I finally decided to send it back to the vendor and pony up another ten or twenty bucks for a web cam that would actually work out of the box on the first install. I could not find a number to call on the Logitech site, but if I had and someone could've fixed this glitch I would have kept the thing, but they didn't - I would pass on this 'lil cheapie....

This review is from: Webcam C160After 3 weeks search, yesterday I found this webcam from Walmart for just $18. Very good live video chat result (if you are using it in a good light). No grainy. Using it for Skype & enjoying it.Though it has a buit-in mic but in the box you'll find an additional headphone (pink & green pin) that also works very well!
