The Bodum Chambord Stovetop Espresso Maker lets coffee lovers prepare and serve shots of their favorite brew at home. This stylish unit brews quality, delicious, authentic espresso in practically no time at all - at a tiny fraction of the price of an expensive espresso machine, 3-cup, 0.35-litre. How do I use it?. Pour water in the bottom container up to the MAX mark. Insert the funnel-shaped metal filter. Add fine ground coffee to the filter. Tighten the upper part (which has a second metal filter and a silicone gasket at the bottom) onto the water container. Place the espresso maker on a heat source making sure that the handle is not directly over heat. When the water boils, the steam will reach a high enough pressure to gradually force its way through the ground coffee, and pass through to the upper chamber. As soon as all of the espresso has reached the upper chamber, you will hear a sputtering sound - the sign that the coffee is ready to serve. Pour the coffee directly from the upper chamber and enjoy a perfect cup of espresso. What kind of ground coffee do I need? Fine: Smoother to the touch, a little finer than granular sugar or table salt. How do I clean this product? Wash the stainless steel espresso maker soon after letting it cool down to minimize staining. Cleaning in the sink will suffice too. Do not put the aluminum espresso makers in the dishwasher as discoloration may occur. Note: Do not screw the espresso maker together while it is still wet. Store the parts separately. Tip: Use a microfiber cloth to wipe the outside dry. This will help to maintain the mirror finish.
This review is from: Bodum Chambord Aluminum Stovetop Espresso MakerI had a Primula and found the quality lacking, large pits in the cast Aluminum, clumpy finish and just poor quality. Who knows what was in the metal, especially with it being made in China. This Bodum is smooth, finished well inside and out and makes SUPER smooth coffee. It is also made in China but at least it looks and feels higher quailty My wife and I are hooked! Very simple to use. We grind our coffee to fine....

What a cool espresso pot! With a capacity of 12 ounces, I no longer need to go through the brewing process twice, once for my husband, and once for myself. We just wore out our electric expresso maker, which we enjoyed, but this stovetop model produces coffee with better flavor, no slightly burned undertaste. Equally good for cappuccino, using our Bodum frother for the topping. The espresso maker is a great product: easy to use, easy to clean, and good value for the price....
This review is from: Bodum Chambord Aluminum Stovetop Espresso MakerAfter breaking two french presses (the glass is quite fragile) I decided to go over to using one of these. For the price, I don't think it can be beat. I'm not some espresso snob, but I do like that I can fuel up with a full day's supply of caffeine with minimum fuss, and the juice it pumps out is fully palatable, even with cheap store brand joe. (But do at least get dark roasted and grind it fine.) To get the same buzz from a french press, I had to chug maybe 18 ounces of coffee; 4 ounces from this thing does the job, and takes less time to make and drink. That may sound silly, but there's a reason Starbucks has the trenta...The stove top espresso maker design is very simple and fast to use (if you understand the process). This model executes it well, and is well machined and built like a tank. Its actually fairly hefty, despite being made of aluminium. I didn't notice the "oily smell" others complained of, and neither did my pregnant wife, who complains about how everything smells. I did take the silicone retaining gasket (much nicer than some rubber ones I've seen) out and wipe what looked like a bit of vegetable grease (likey needed to keep stacked silicone gaskets from sticking together at the factory) off it, as well as rinsing all the metal parts with hot water.Besides not breaking when you drop it, the stove top espresso maker is easier to clean up than a french press; there's no goopy soup in the bottom that gets your trash all wet, just a moist "puck" of grounds. The parts are also easier to rinse off, because they are all fairly simple and smooth, with no convoluted spring loaded screen, and no deep vessel you need to reach into the ...
