This review is from: Samsung ST600 - Digital camera - compact - 14.2 Mpix - optical zoom: 5 x - supported memory: microSD, microSDHC - purpleI own a TL225/ST550 which is the model prior to the ST600, the reason I bought TL225:1. Beauty Shot feature2. Dual screens3. Touch screenThe TL225 had many bugs, but the beauty shot feature really pleased me and my all of my friends, the pictures came out stunning. After a year and half use, my TL225 screen was damaged, but still useable (two black bars at the top and the side). I thought to just buy this newer model one since I like the beauty shot feature and no one else in the market really does it. So I bought a pink ST600 in Hong Kong. That turned out to be a mistake. The first thing I did was to test the beauty shot (which Samsung QA forgot to do I guess) when I opened the box, the pictures turned out horrible. I set the same setting as my old tl225, same position, the pictures on the ST600 look as if the beauty shot feature never been applied. I did various testing, and view them on the 24" LCD screen, looks like they did a very minor effect to smooth out the skin, but just not enough, especially when compared to the ST225. Even when I set it to the the top setting both skin bright and retouch to 3! With the TL225, it smoothed out the skin, but the eyes, eyelashes, eye brows, hairs are still sharp and good color, but in ST600, it didn't smooth out the skin, and the rest parts are now slightly blurred.I'm wondering is it because the increased pixels, which I don't think it's a good idea, and I also don't care about it, maybe Samsung tried to reduce the processing time, and doing a lower quality job with this feature. But it should just use a different setting as a compromise, the current setting options are useless, since it really doesn't change much.Anyway, I hope Samsung will come out some firmware update for this camera to correct this, and I also hope my TL225 won't die too soon, since I'm addicted to it.BTW, I did reconmmend Samsung TL225 to all my friends who are pretty vain like me:)
