This review is from: Hootoo Y7 Webcam 8.0MP, Night Vision Without microphoneWhile I was questioning the value of this webcam when I made the choice of buying it online, I was pleasantly surprised. While its obviously not the best cam on the market, its price makes it a very good value. Unless you needs a HD camera which will cost much more, this is your best bet. The camera quality I would rate 9/10 even in low light. The Night Vision is misleading, as most would assume that would mean the green tint screen that shows video in extremely low light, but instead its just lights that are attached to the camera can turn on. Also there is a microphone aspect of the webcam, but I am unable to give a quality. Since you need to plug it in into a mic line out, but the cord set up is bad, and would require the USB port to be very close to the mic port and on most laptop that's just not the case. I had absolutely no issue with the install, my computer recognized it right away, and Skype accepted it without even having to reboot.

I thought I would be getting the same one, but I did not. The webcam is very easy to install, you really just have to plug it in, and you're ready to go! :) When I got my webcam, my boyfriend and I thought it was broken. The light kept coming on, then it would go off. Little did we know, the light automatically turns on when it's dark, and turns off when it's light. It also has sound, but it claims it doesn't. We called customer service and told them we thought it was broken, and they offered to send us a new one for free, without having to return the other one. So, if I could, I would give both the company and the product 10 stars. Very nice webcam for a very little price.
