This review is from: TomTom ONE 130S 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (Box Version)PROS: I got mine for $50 so can't complain. I like it for it's portable size and GPS nav works as expected. It's definitely worth the money.CONS: I have two annoyances:1) When you are in the countryside, you have to zoom in to see the smaller roads - even if there are no other roads around. This filtering is useful in cities when you got a lot of roads and makes sense to focus on bigger ones, but in countryside when you have few roads this is counterproductive.2) The unit turns itself ON by itself. I charge it, turn it off to store. A few days later the unit comes on by itself and drains the battery down. This is a design flaw and i've seen many user complaints about this.

I had my TomTom device for two years and right before my big trip I decided to update my maps. I purchased the upgrade for $77 and could not upload it onto my device. I kept getting error and timed out messages. I spoke with five different technicians and two supervisors from TomTom who wasted my time. They were unable to resolve the problem. They removed all my maps from my GPS and were never able to upload their faulty software onto my computer or my GPS. I was told that since my device was out of warranty there was nothing they could do and would give me $10 off if I purchased a brand new TomTom. I have absolutely nothing on my current device. When I turn it on it just says no maps and that's it. TomTom's customer support team would not allow me to send my device to them for upload of the software and would not send me a disk so I could do it myself. The company is in The Netherlands and since it is an international program I suspect is not compatible with our computers. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my desktop computer or my laptop, I tried both and I have never experienced anything like that. I was never warned by TomTom's support agents that the download would take four to five hours to run and NEVER advised of a possibility of loosing all the data during the upload of the new map of North America. Instead I was constantly being assured of their confidence of the program being successfully uploaded onto my GPS. After being on the phone with TomTom's employees for two days, troubleshooting the software, I was told that they would not restore my device to the way it was before and would not exchange my model for the same one. I did not ask for a new one, just simply the one I had and was again reminded to just buy a new unit. Now I have no use for previously well functioning navigation device. This review is from: TomTom ONE 130S 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (Box Version)My second Tom Tom. For me, no need to get all the other bells and whistles. The 130S is a basic model and is simple to use. The new mount system is OK, but it did take me a little practice to get it down (windshield mount). Overall I would highly recommend this unit. Shop around and you should be able to purchase for $80.00 or less.
