This review is from: Tassajara Dinners & Desserts [Hardcover]This cookbook is a real gem. The recipes are quite unusual but they are also simple and very clearly presented. I have tried quite a few and they have been uniformly delicious. As someone on a restricted diet which can get quite boring, I have been particularly pleased to find so many interesting wheat and dairy-free recipes. Wonderful as the recipes are, the photos and stories throughout the book are what make it a real treasure. The photos are instructive, enticing and artful. And the stories from cook-apprentices at the Zen Mountain Center are touching and funny. The book is so lovingly and artistically put together that it is a pleasure to flip through, and it makes a great gift....
