This review is from: Analog Electric Alarm ClockMy brother had this alarm clock, I borrowed it one time and was wowed by how it woke me up! I am a very deep sleeper and it takes several alarms to wake me up. My brother didn't need such a strong alarm so I adopted it and when it died I just had to find another. I have not found any other alarm clock that sounds as loud as this one does. The first few times it actually scared me (sound a bit like a siren). If you have a spouse who is a light sleeper I'm not sure I would recommend because it is loud they will turn it off the second it sounds. Big downside in my opinion is that it doesn't really repeat or stay sounding until you do something. I am such a deep sleeper that sometimes I actually don't hear it the first time around so I never hit snooze, and find that after sounding for some time it doesn't go off again. I like that it is battery operated because I can place it anywhere and don't have to worry about blackouts....
