I purchased it to do two things: multiply my usb ports and warm a cup of coffee. It does the first. Though the element heats up, it doesn't get hot enough to rewarm coffee, no matter how long I leave a cup. In fact at first, I was convinced it was a heat sink, stealing warmth from the tepid cup. In summary: a complete failure as a mug warmer....

Second one, it worked for a week, then quit. Hot plate was hot to the touch, but never did much to warm my ceramic mug....
