This review is from: Microsoft LifeCam VX-800 - Web camera - color - audio - Hi-Speed USBIf you just need a basic webcam for video calling, this is probably the best one for most user's needs. The best thing about this webcam is you don't need to install any extra driver software like you have to do with almost all other webcams. The worst thing is that you'll need at least an XP SP2 or later otherwise you're SOL as there's no driver software available for this webcam period (also look elsewhere if you use a Mac). This webcam employs the "hook and hang" method of mounting onto your screen so don't be moving your notebook around while using the webcam. :p Picture quality obviously isn't the best but it'll give you the most painless installation of any other webcam.
